The memories of that day began the weekend before, I had babysat my favorite little girls four in total, (Francesca, Tonianne, Nicolette, Daniella) or as their dad called them Frankie, Tony, Nicky, and Dani. Every weekend I babysat them, and taught them dance classes during the week. Well on September 11, like any other morning I got dress for school, called my older brother to wish him a happy birthday, and took off to school. I got to school, ate breakfast, and headed to homeroom. The first bell rang and off to first period we all went, we normally watched the morning new in our first class but that morning was different instead our principal came on the loud speaker and announced that a plane had hit the world trade center. Everyone freaked out, racing to their cell phones, some crying because they had family members who worked around the buildings, and then one girl who didn't say anything and didn't move. She quietly said I need to call my grandmother, she works on the 96th floor. Her grandmother, not knowing what had just happened, her grandmother said what happen sweetie I am at the doctor's office, I had to take the day off, because my tooth was hurting me. My friend just sat and cried. This day took one to many turns that have forever placed a fear in my life. My older brother was in boot camp during this time, his wife was pregnant and worked in the city. My brother gets a call from his Sargent telling him a large building in the city has been hit by a plane, my brother being the only one from N.Y he flipped and told them that he needed to know exactly because his parents and wife work in the city. My dad takes the E train to work and knowing the E goes to the world trade center I panicked. I called him and he was on his way to the subway and he tells me he had to go back home because the entrance was blocked off, so I told him what had happened and he said he would come and pick me up right away, my sister in law and mom, had to walk over the queens bridge. Finally all my family members were home and safe, and I thought I could thank my lucky stars, but instead I got a call from my little girl's mom, what I thought was a phone call to go over and celebrate their dad's 50th birthday, instead was a soft spoken crying voice, she mustered out please come over, the girls need you. So right away I went over their house and stopped me outside and broke the news to me, Vinny a firefighter had responded to the call of the trade center and they can't find him, since he was there with his unit first they feared the worst. I cried, more then I had cried about anything before, I wiped my tears aside and walked in to my girls. With four little smiles and hugs, I knew they knew nothing. I told their mom I would be back everyday after that, as long as those girls needed me. Well time passed and Vinny was never found just his helmet. I can't begin to explain how my feelings of this day are any different then anyone else, because everyone knew someone or of someone who knew someone.
